Aid Fund

The Aid Fund was created by Wisława Szymborska’s will. Aid can be applied for by authors and translators of literature whose life situation has suddenly deteriorated due to causes beyond their control or, in exceptional cases, those who have found themselves in financial difficulties. The aid is granted in response to an application submitted by the interested author or translator of literature, the Polish Writers’ Association (SPP), the PEN Club, the Book Institute, or other associations of writers or organisations operating to the benefit of the literary community. The Aid Committee, representing various literary circles in Poland, is chaired by Professor Teresa Walas (member of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees).

The Fund’s aid is granted twice a year, in spring and autumn.
